Isabel León Guzmán, Cáceres 1974. Vive en Granada, España. Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, becada Erasmus en Atenas, Promoe en La Habana y Master en Producción e Investigación en Arte por la Universidad de Granada.

Su obra ha evolucionado desde la fotografía y el vídeo hasta el arte de acción, disciplina a la que se dedica desde el 2007 casi de manera exclusiva. Concibe la creación artística como un acto estrechamente ligado a la vida, por lo que sus obras necesitan, inexorablemente, ser sinceras y estar conectadas con sus sentimientos, pensamientos y emociones más íntimas.

Del arte de acción le interesa especialmente la interacción con el público y cómo éste contribuye a que la obra exista, haciéndolo protagonista de sus acciones, austeras en cuanto a necesidades técnicas y materiales. Con frecuencia, sus acciones son planteadas como juegos, retos o experimentos.

Compagina su actividad artística con la docente, impartiendo talleres en diferentes contextos e instituciones. También organiza y promueve la práctica del arte de acción organizando encuentros, festivales y grupos de trabajo.

Her work has evolved from photography and video to performance art, discipline that she is dedicated since 2007 almost exclusively. She conceives artistic creation as an act closely linked to life, so that her works need, inexorably, be sincere and connected to her feelings, thoughts and deepest emotions.

 

She is interested in performance art because its interaction with the public and how it contributes for the work to exist, making them the protagonist of her performances, austere in terms of techniques and materials needs.Often, her performances are displayed as games, challenges or experiments.

 

She combines her artistic activity with teaching, giving workshops in different contexts and institutions. She also organizes and promotes the practice of performance art by organizing meetings, festivals and working groups.
