Action created under the premises of the “Here & Now” series in which each action is conceived few hours before it is shown and is based on the observed and lived in the concrete physical space context for which it is Created.
On this occasion, the context is the VI Meeting of Living Arts in the Nature of Matsu, on June 17, 2017 in which we reach temperatures above 40ºC. So, under these circumstances, my biggest motivation was the realization of an action inside the pool that is there; For me, the most attractive and appetizing place to stay that afternoon …
On the other hand, knowing the relaxed atmosphere of these meetings, I was very attracted to the idea of proposing a playful and fun action. So, I invite the audience to participate in an experience based on my childhood in which I played with my cousins and friends to guess songs underwater when we bathed in the pool.
This same idea is transferred to a totally different context: the pool is considerably smaller, the rest of the participants are out of the water and can only put their ear in order to hear me sing, and finally there are a large number of people organized in two groups that compete with each other to guess the songs.
As a formal element, I decide to limit the space with a large translucent plastic that covers us as a dome or soundboard and helps to focus on the sound and invites us to approach … This plastic remembers a greenhouse and at the same time grants a halation of mysticism to that moment nothing solemn.
The songs that I sang and that were divined by both groups with more or less difficulty were:
Looking in the chest of memories (Karina).
I will resist (Dynamic Duo).
At your party I stuck (Mecano).
The fisherman of men (Catholic songbook).
Every breath you take (Police).
At the back of the potatoes (popular children).
