Performance Art Festival Abierto de Acción. Centro Párraga, Murcia. November, 2011
Baby food jars in different sizes and flavors are placed on the floor.
I have bibs hanging around my waist.
I approach a person in the audience and I put a bib on him/her.
I take one of the baby food jars, open it and start to feed its contents to him/her.
From time to time I ask him/her: how is it?… do you like it?… do you want more?
When he/she does not want to eat anymore, I leave the jar on the floor in front of that person and I walk over to someone else, repeating the process.
I repeat the ritual of feeding again and again, spoonful by spoonful, with different people in the audience, until I decide to stop.
I take the left over bibs from my waist and I put them around my neck one by one.
I approach one of the people I fed and I remove their bib, putting it around my neck. I pick up the jar of baby food jar and start to eat the leftovers. I repeat this process with the other audience members wearing bibs.
Some baby food jars are empty and others are still full. Some taste good, like fruit, and there is less in the jar. Others are still nearly full. These jars contain the food that have unpleasant taste and texture. I eat them all, one by one, more slowly and with more difficulty each time. The performance ends when I finish the last of the spoonful of food from the last baby food jar.
