It is a pleasure to be part of the Intervened Books collection of the Ana María Matute Library in Valdemoro (Madrid) and to share my proposal with artists that I appreciate and admire.
My piece is entitled “La crisis” and is based on the book: “La crisis del estado”. Manuel Fraga Iribarne. Ed. Aguilar, 1958.
The accompanying text is as follows:
When I was invited to take part in this project, the image of what I wanted to do appeared in my head: a book with strands of artificially coloured hair growing out of it. After that, all that was left was to find the right book for this intervention to make sense. And along came Manuel Fraga Iribarne’s La Crisis del Estado, in a 1958 edition, in the midst of Franco’s dictatorship.
Any explanation of this connection is pure hot air.
